Sometimes it feels like a tornado has gone through my office at night while I'm sleeping. When Sheron came over with her calm demeanour, coupled with a friendly insistence on making effective changes, it was like a breath of fresh air entered the room.
Chaos + Sheron = Ah, things are working properly again. If organizing is not in your skill set, Sheron can help, in a respectful yet powerful way. ~~~ When Sheron offered to help me downsize I was reluctant but found it to be a most rewarding experience. Since I have trouble letting go, Sheron patiently helped me part with useless stuff that I no longer needed. Plus, Sheron was able to help me organize the treasures that I didn’t have the heart to part with. I would not hesitate to call on her again when we decide to give up our two story home and find a nice condo to retire in. ~~~ Having you here gave me permission, or it allowed me to give myself permission, to let go of things. There is no particular item that I regret discarding. That may be because I had a chance to share a bit of its history before sending it on its way. Having the chance to email/talk to you about the process has helped. Particularly our talks last week before decluttering. Not sure I can put into words how it helps. It just sort of clarified/solidified ideas that have come up. |

When i asked my clients to answer some questions...
Q: If someone is interested in having support in decluttering their homes but is concerned/skeptical/scared, what might you share about these sessions to reassure them? A: Is it worth the money? Abso-fuc%#ng-lutely. The difference in my overall well-being is noticeable. Sheron is really good at helping in moments when i feel overwhelmed, cranky, irritated, and flustered. Just a gentle, steady and calm presence that helps me keep steadily moving forward. The mental space that gets cleared as the physical space gets cleared is huge, and lasts for days. i also think it is building new habits without me even noticing. A: Maybe someone would be worried about her seeing their messy house. Sheron really really doesn't say anything judgy. It's just 'what do you need?' and then working towards you getting that need met. Also - i really bet it's not that bad, and partly we gotta get out from under the pressure our own minds put on us to be perfect for other people. Q: What is your favourite part of the session? A: That moment when i notice the lightness. A feeling like - oh, this is definitely all going to get done, or Hey! we are doing way more than i thought we would get to. This isn't so bad! And i never have to see that stuff that's gone into the bin again. A: When i have something in my hand and I'm stalled because my brain is trying to figure out what i will do with it to get it out of the house - and you just gently take it from my hand and it GOES AWAY. woah. That feels soooooo good. Q: How have you benefited from these sessions? A: A better ability to let other things go. Not just material things. More than once since our decluttering sessions I've thought to myself, "I can just let go of that". A: It feels good to open my closet and see space rather than clutter and items I "should" do "something" about. (by "something" I mean repair, re-purpose, discard.) |
